Brother Man, My Spirit Is Wounded!
I spend my days, in as much laughter& tranquil love as I could muster.
Reap the good & let the bad be I always say ..
But in the guise of every night she comes to me.
In teary eyed desperation, and she weeps on my shoulder.
She is not blind. As much as she tries … she can still see.
How unkind brother man can be! How decisive & blind!
& she wonders how come she can’t smell death in the air!
When it’s all around, escalading & unstoppable
Even in the month of peace
He still hacks the ground with his hate.
And let the heads roll.
If Ramadan had eyes, I swear it too would weep!
What are we coming to brother man?
That we can hurt each other over our same religion!
Can hurt others for theirs!
That we can find solace in the sufferings of another!
Because of their religion!
If it must be then it shall be.
But at least help me understand

So that I can better accept.
What are we fighting over anyway brother man?
Our one God!
Our one God who is love!
& who is peace!
Where are your heads brother man?
Where are your hearts!
And where is the spirit of God blown into you?
