best thing you do! health comes #1 usually. But don't tire yourself with counting days and hours.. that can be torture.
and like other said, listen to your non-smoking supporters and give the shut window for others ;-
Peach ...
i'm proud of you .. way to go!!
the gadget / stats ARE important right now. every minute you remain smoke free is a HUGE accomplishment. in the early weeks it's good to keep track and watch the numbers add up because it's encouraging and gives you strength! these are my current stats:
I have been quit for 2 Months, 2 Weeks, 3 Days, 9 hours, 50 minutes and 19 seconds (79 days). I have saved $481.99 by not smoking 2,382 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Week, 4 Days, 13 hours and 54 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 12/27/2004
and it does NOT have to be hard to quit. if you are feeling good and not really struggling . that's a GREAT thing. don't tell yourself it has to be hard or it's not working .. that is simply untrue. it wasn't that hard for me ... and i hardly ever think about smoking. quitting is only as difficult as you make it in your mind. again, if you think of it as a new gift that you're giving to yourself (rather than depriving yourself of something) .. it makes it easier!
also, here is something i put together for encouragement in the early days / weeks. if you feel a crave, remember the 5 D's:
Distract - yourself. Do something. Take a walk. Eat fruit. Chew gum. Chew on a straw, ANYTHING to get your mind off the crave.
Deep Breathe - takes lots of slow, deep breaths. Try to relax your muscles ... think about something soothing ... being by the ocean or wherever is calming to you. Visualize it!
Drink - lots of water. It flushes your system, is good for you anyway, and it gives you something to do!
Delay - smoking. You can get through 4 minutes. A craving NEVER killed anyone. It's a temporary thing. It will pass .. that's a guarantee. A crave is not an instruction to pick upo a cigarette .. it is only a feeling.
Discuss - post on the Q! Post for help. Wait for three responses. People will talk you down.
Keep up the great work!!!!
Uz, no not torture at all, it feels good actually, makes me feel so proud ;)
Raven, Your 5D’s are priceless ;) way to go girl 2 months!!! I guess then like Jeff said .. You’ve already quit ;D it’s amazing how good being quit feels isn’t it ;) clearer skin, better breathing & just feeling clean right from the inside. I can’t believe I was a smoker for 9 yrs!
Keep up the good work hon, and thanks again for the site. It’s amazing. And thank you even more for your support my dear fellow non-smoker ;)

Talking about stink ..! I remembered a guy who came to work with us for like 6 months and he and his cubicle smelled bad!! he used to cough all the time and he threw up many times! Then he got sick cos of his excessive smoking for like a month! Actually nobody was sorry for him leaving us :D
